Our take on Mailscale
Mailscale runs its own SMTP servers and IP pools, provisions inboxes in under a minute with SPF/DKIM/DMARC handled automatically, and backs deliverability with a guarantee: if inbox placement on a Mailscale-purchased domain drops below 80%, you get a free domain replacement. At the Enterprise tier the effective rate falls to around $1.25/inbox, which is strong for managed SMTP.
The weak spots are transparency and track record. The site doesn't render a public pricing page, so figures have to be triangulated from the help center and third parties — and those sources disagree on both plan prices and overage rates. The “pre-warmed” language is also misleading: the standard product ramps over two to three weeks of warmup, with the genuinely pre-warmed option waitlisted. As a company founded in late 2023 with a no-refund policy, it's worth a small test order before a large commitment.
